Course Curriculum

Rate – Finding rates involving time, money, proportions, and volume. Students will learn to calculate rates per minute and rates involving hours and days. They will also explore concepts such as rate of interest and finding amounts given certain numbers. Additionally, students will develop the skills to find rates involving volume and other quantities.
Ratio – Comparing ratios, finding amounts, and interpreting ratio statements. Students will simplify ratios to their simplest form, compare ratios with different denominators, and apply ratios to real-life scenarios. They will learn to find the ratio of given lengths and determine amounts, masses, quantities, and ages based on ratios. Students will also interpret ratio statements and solve word problems involving ratios.
Average – Finding average time, age, score, and length, as well as calculating averages in data sets. Students will learn to find the average time given the number of instances, determine the number of people given the average age, and calculate average scores and lengths. They will also develop the ability to analyze data sets and compute averages by summing the values and dividing by the number of data points.
